Retirement Income Planning in Temple

Savings are only half of retirement. The other half is a reliable monthly check. We help you build that income with annuities and life insurance, explain every choice on paper, and check back each year so the plan keeps fitting your life.

A Paycheck After the Last Paycheck

Retirement income planning answers a simple question: when work stops, where does each month's money come from, and how long will it last? We look at what you already have, such as Social Security, a pension, a 401(k) or an old CD, and find the gap between that income and what you actually spend.

As an insurance agency, we close that gap with insurance tools. A fixed or fixed indexed annuity can turn a lump sum into income for life. A cash value life insurance policy can protect a spouse who would lose a pension or Social Security check. We place these with insurance carriers, and we explain how each one behaves before you sign anything.

The work does not end at the signature. Clients across Temple, Belton and Harker Heights hear from us again each year, because spending, health and tax rules change, and a plan that suits you at 63 may need adjusting by 70.

What Your Plan Covers

An income gap review
We put your guaranteed income sources beside your monthly expenses. Whatever shortfall shows up becomes the target every later recommendation is sized to meet.
Carrier annuity comparisons
We gather fixed, fixed indexed and income annuity quotes from more than one carrier and set them next to each other on one page. For each contract you can read the surrender period, any rider fees and the monthly income it would provide, in plain language.
Protection for a surviving spouse
When one Social Security check or a single-life pension stops at a death, the family budget can shrink overnight. We show how a life policy can replace that income for the spouse left behind.
Beneficiary and survivor choices
We go through every beneficiary line on new and existing contracts so the money goes where you intend, without surprises for your family later.
A written summary you keep
You leave with a plain document showing what you own, what it pays, when you can reach it and who it goes to.

When an Income Plan Is Worth Starting

  • You stop working within the decade

With several paychecks still ahead, your choices have room to grow. Waiting until the last month narrows the options open to you.

  • Savings with no withdrawal plan

A healthy balance is not the same as income. If you are unsure how much you can take each year without running short, it is time to map it out.

  • A pension election is on your desk

Single-life or joint-and-survivor is a one-time decision. We can show what life insurance would cost as an alternative before you choose.

  • A CD or old annuity is maturing

Renewal notices often roll money into whatever the bank offers. A maturity date is a good moment to compare.

  • You worry about outliving your money

Lifetime income options exist for exactly this concern, and we can explain how they work in plain terms.

How We Work With You

  1. 1

    A first conversation by phone

We ask about your income sources, your monthly spending and your retirement date. No paperwork is needed yet.

  2. 2

    A careful review meeting

We meet by phone or in person, at your place of work if that is easier. Bring statements for pensions, accounts and any policies you own, and we go through them line by line.

  3. 3

    Options on paper

You receive a written comparison with the income, the fees, the surrender schedule and how quickly you could reach your money. Keep it, think it over and call with questions.

  4. 4

    Application and delivery

If you go ahead, we handle the application and transfer paperwork with the carrier. When the contract arrives, we walk through it with you so you know what each page means.

  5. 5

    Yearly follow-up

Each year we check in, confirm your beneficiaries and look at whether your income still matches your spending. We also tell you when a surrender period ends, so you know your options.

What Shapes the Cost

The first conversation and your written comparison cost nothing. What you eventually pay depends on the products you choose, and we show every charge before you commit. These are the main things that move the numbers.

The amount you place
Income from an annuity scales with the premium. A larger lump sum buys more monthly income or a longer guarantee.
Surrender period length
Longer surrender schedules often come with better rates, but they limit early access. We help you weigh that tradeoff against your cash needs.
Optional riders
Income riders and some long-term care features carry an annual charge. We only suggest a rider when it solves a real problem in your plan.
Age and health
For life insurance that protects a surviving spouse, premiums depend on age, health and the coverage amount. Earlier is usually less expensive.

Retirement Income Questions

Something not covered here? (254) 679-7454

Will my money be locked up in an annuity?

For the first years of the contract, taking out more than the allowed amount usually triggers a surrender charge. Many contracts still permit a set percentage each year with no charge at all. You get the full charge schedule in writing before deciding, and we steer you away from placing money you expect to need soon.

Do you replace my financial advisor?

No. We are an insurance agency and focus on insurance-based income and protection. Many clients bring our written summary to their advisor or tax preparer, and we are glad to work alongside them.

What happens to an annuity if I die?

That depends on the contract and the options you choose. Many annuities pay remaining value to a named beneficiary. We explain those choices at the start and confirm your beneficiaries at each yearly review.

Should I wait to claim Social Security?

Timing affects your monthly benefit for life, so it belongs in the plan. We show how different claiming ages change your income gap, and for the final decision we suggest checking your record with the Social Security Administration.

What does the yearly check-in involve?

A short conversation, usually by phone. We review your income against your spending, confirm beneficiaries, note any contract dates coming up and answer questions. If nothing needs to change, we tell you that too.
